(Times of Israel) Elhanan Miller - According to a poll conducted in early December 2014 by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research, 77% of Palestinians believe that Israel intends to destroy the al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock and replace them with a Jewish temple, PSR director Khalil Shikaki said Sunday. The poll found that if elections were held today, Hamas would win a majority in parliament and its former prime minister, Ismail Haniyeh, would defeat PA President Mahmoud Abbas by a landslide, Shikaki said. Asked about support for violent tactics against Israel, "overall, the findings indicate that - in Palestinian eyes - violence works and diplomacy is a failure, and a third intifada is the best way to go," Shikaki said.
