Facebook Buys Israeli Maker of Data Compression Software

(New York Times) Vindu Goel - Facebook announced Monday that it had acquired Onavo, a three-year-old Israeli start-up that makes data compression software for smartphones. The purchase of Onavo, with 40 employees in Tel Aviv, for $120 million gives Facebook its first office in Israel.
