Security Fears Keep Israelis from World Scout Jamboree

(Ha'aretz) Thailand will host some 20,000 boy and girl scouts from 80 countries for the 20th World Scout Jamboree, which begins Friday. However, Israel called off its participation in the event after the Thai government was unable to provide the Israeli delegation with the necessary security guarantees, the general secretary of the Israeli scouts, Lior Carmel, told Israel Radio.
