Friends Meet in the Emergency Room

(Palm Beach Post) William Kelly - Following a bus bombing two months ago, more than 60 victims were rushed to a Jerusalem hospital trauma unit where general surgeon Jeffrey Kashuk was in charge. While Kashuk was tending to a critically wounded 17-year-old boy who was soon to be declared brain dead, the boy's father came into the unit. Kashuk looked up and into the face of a friend and neighbor from the community where they live in the old city of Jerusalem. "There's nothing you can say," said Kashuk, a former Palm Beach resident. "We just embraced and cried together."
