Ordinary Israelis have also taken matters into their own hands, smuggling shampoo, soap, toothpaste, laundry detergent, sugar, rice, toys for children and other basic items - all donated by the Israeli public and Israeli supermarket chains - into Syrian refugee camps in Jordan and elsewhere.
