Fifth Israeli Communications Satellite Launched into Orbit

(Ha'aretz) Gili Cohen - A fifth satellite from the Israeli firm Spacecom was launched into space on Saturday night from the Russian-operated Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. "Amos 4 is the biggest and most advanced satellite ever built in Israel," said Yossi Weiss, CEO of Israel Aerospace Industries. The satellite will provide broadband broadcast service to Russia, India, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
