Despite Use of Chemical Weapons, Many Americans Oppose Syrian Intervention

(Reuters) Lesley Wroughton - Americans oppose U.S. intervention in Syria's civil war and believe Washington should stay out of the conflict, a Reuters/Ipsos poll taken August 19-23 says. 46% of Americans would oppose U.S. intervention even if Syrian President Assad's forces used chemicals to attack civilians, while 25% would support it. Just 27% said they supported President Obama's decision to send arms to some Syrian rebels, while 47% were opposed.
