(New York Times) - After American diplomat Laurence Foley was assassinated in Amman, Jordan, Americans there are assessing how to lower their profiles. "When people ask me if I'm an American I tell them, 'No, I'm from Canada,'" says Jack E. Davis, a professor on leave from the University of Alabama at Birmingham to teach American Studies in Amman.
