(MEMRI) Prince Hassan of Jordan - Long before the discovery of the New World, the Islamic world was a refuge for those escaping from religious and intellectual discrimination. Pluralism and respect of diversity were adopted by the Prophet Muhammad and the Khalifs who succeeded him. Extremist violent actions like the events of September 11, 2001, are absolutely immoral and no modern Islamic state should condone them.
