Israel's Position at UN Improves

(JTA) - As the United Nations begins its three-month General Assembly this week, observers describe an improved climate for Israel. With much of the world focused on the possibility of a U.S.-led war against Iraq, attention has shifted away from the Israeli-Palestinian crisis. Jewish leaders also contend that countries simply are tired of anti-Israel antics that distract attention from other pressing issues.
