(Toronto Star) - When an average, garage-made bomb is exploded in a contained space, such as a city bus, the heat and pressure generated by the blast will melt iron. "For the exposed part of the body, the side facing the blast, it would be like falling off a building," says Dr. Pekka Sinervo, a physics professor at the University of Toronto. "No, actually it would be worse."
