(AFP/ChannelNewsAsia-Singapore) The trial of four Thai Muslims accused of belonging to the Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) terrorist group and plotting a series of attacks on foreign embassies and tourist spots in Thailand began on Nov. 18. They are accused of planning a bombing campaign that included the embassies of Australia, Britain, Israel, Singapore, and the U.S. They are also accused of planned attacks on a backpacker haunt in Bangkok and the resorts of Phuket and Pattaya.
