(Ha'aretz) - Arnon Regular Sheikh Abadallah Al-Shami, 50, Islamic Jihad's spiritual leader in the Gaza Strip who was also the organization's spokesman, resigned from the group in August, according to Palestinian security sources. Islamic Jihad sources said the movement's leadership outside the territories gradually removed Al-Shami's budgets and resources.
