Ambassador Simcha Dinitz Dies

(Ha'aretz) - Simcha Dinitz, a former chairman of the Jewish Agency and Israeli ambassador to Washington in the 1970s, died Tuesday in Jerusalem at the age of 74. Dinitz also served as director general of the foreign ministry and later of the prime minister's office, as well as political adviser to prime minister Golda Meir.
