U.S. Won't Deal with Arafat Based on "Bitter Experience"

(State Department) - U.S. State Department Spokesman Richard Boucher said Thursday, "Our view on Chairman Arafat is, unfortunately, based on many years of experience and attempts to work with him, many years of his failing to deliver on commitments. And we have not changed our view in any way. We don't intend to deal with him. Our position is a conclusion reached over a long time, based on some bitter experience, and we don't expect to change it, no."
