Palestinians Postpone Confidence Vote on Abbas Due to U.S. Pressure

(Ha'aretz) Arnon Regular and Aluf Benn - The Palestinian Legislative Council decided to postpone the vote of confidence in the government of Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas from Monday to Thursday. U.S. officials have told the Palestinian leadership that if Abbas's government falls, the U.S. will withdraw its support for the road map and for an independent Palestinian state, Israel Radio reported Sunday.
