Israeli Planes Fly Over Syrian Leader's House

(Reuters/MSNBC) - Israeli planes flew at low altitudes this week over the holiday residence of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the northern Syrian city of Latakia, as a message to Syria to rein in Hizballah, Israeli television said on Friday. Israeli planes also broke the sound barrier over Beirut earlier this week in retaliation for Hizballah shelling that killed an Israeli teenager last Sunday.
