Senate Postpones Daniel Pipes Nomination Vote

(JTA) A U.S. Senate committee postponed a vote Wednesday on Daniel Pipes' nomination to the board of the U.S. Institute of Peace, a government-funded, nonpartisan think tank. Pipes, an author and lecturer who has spoken out about the threat of Muslim fundamentalism, was nominated by the White House in April. Pipes' nomination has been opposed by Arab groups and backed by prominent Jewish groups.
