(Sify - India) Russian oil destined to India for the first time flowed across Israeli territory, from Ashkelon to Eilat on the Red Sea, in a cost-saving arrangement that would prevent the journey around Africa, Israel Radio reported Friday. The new route allows supertankers, which are too large to pass through the Suez Canal, to avoid the long and costly journey.
