Chief Shares Lessons on Terror from Israel

(Portland Oregonian) Maxine Bernstein - Portland Police Chief Mark Kroeker told community members Thursday that one of the most important lessons he learned from an Israeli police conference on terrorism was to ensure the public is informed about potential threats. The chief said he was intrigued by the camera-monitoring system Israeli police have placed in malls and on the streets of Jerusalem to try to stave off attacks. He took notes from the Israeli police on detonation devices and crisis management strategies.
