(Washington Times) - The Bush administration Monday ordered the Army's most advanced land combat division - the 4th Infantry Division from Fort Hood, Texas - to deploy to the Persian Gulf, together with the 3rd Infantry Division from Fort Stewart, Ga. By month's end, as many as 100,000 American troops may be positioned in the region, and a total force of more than 200,000 is expected to be in place, or on the way, by late February.
