[Los Angeles Times] Bruce Hoffman - Although al-Qaeda is often spoken of as if it is in retreat, the truth is that it is not on the run but on the march. It has regrouped and reorganized and is marshaling its forces to continue the epic struggle begun more than 10 years ago. Ongoing investigations increasingly suggest that recent terrorist threats and attacks were all coordinated in some way by al-Qaeda and not by homegrown terror groups. The writer is a professor at Georgetown University and a senior fellow at West Point's Combating Terrorism Center.
