(Telegraph-UK) American forces in Fallujah said Thursday they had killed an estimated 600 fighters and taken control of 70% of the city, while suffering 18 dead. Maj. Gen. Richard Natonski, commander of the 1st Marine Division, said militants were using mosques as a base for operations. "In almost every single mosque in Fallujah we have found an arms cache. We've been shot at by snipers from minarets."
