(Ministry of Tourism/IMRA) In the first nine months of 2004, 198,100 French tourists arrived in Israel, exceeding the previous record set in 2000 by 12%. The number of American tourists to Israel during the same period rose 52% over 2003 levels to 286,207. European tourism also grew, with visitors from Russia up 39%, Britain 57%, Italy 76%, and Germany 64%.
