Israeli Airstrike Kills Hamas Commander

(Wall Street Journal) Joshua Mitnick and Charles Levinson - Israeli airstrikes in Gaza on Wednesday killed Ahmed Jabari, Hamas' top military commander, in retaliation for a wave of missile attacks on Israeli territory in recent days. Palestinian militants responded by firing dozens of rockets at Israeli cities. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address: "We won't accept a situation in which Israeli civilians are threatened by the terror of rocket fire." President Barack Obama spoke Wednesday with Netanyahu and Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi.
