(IDF) The IDF completed an investigation regarding the release of material on October 1, 2004, indicating that a Kassam rocket was loaded on a vehicle with a UN emblem. After a thorough review of the material, the nature of the object loaded on the vehicle cannot be determined with certainty. Thus, the determination that the object was a Kassam rocket was too unequivocal and made in haste. The abuse by terrorists of UN property and insignia is a recurring phenomenon, and the gravity of the issue was conveyed to UN representatives.
