Practical Concerns, Not Ideology, May Keep Egypt-Israel Peace

(VOA News) Elizabeth Arrott - Political sociologist Said Sadek of the American University in Cairo noted, "The majority of the [Egyptian] people want to keep peace with Israel and want to concentrate on fighting poverty, ignorance, religious extremism, corruption. These are the real issues. Not neighbors." Sadek adds that after being on the losing side of past conflicts with Israel, few in Egypt are interested in fighting neighbors again.
