(Reuters/Ha'aretz) Lt.-Gen. Moshe Yaalon, the army's chief of staff, suggested Israel could turn over the Golan via a peace agreement with Syria without undue security risk. "If you ask me, theoretically, if it is possible to reach an agreement with Syria in which there is balance, then I can answer that when considering military requirements it is possible to reach an agreement by giving up the Golan Heights," he was quoted by the daily Yediot Ahronot.
