European Hope of Saving Iranian Nuclear Deal is Fading

(Guardian-UK) British, French, and German officials met their Iranian counterparts in Paris Thursday to try to salvage the agreement by which Tehran promised not to develop a nuclear weapons program. Pessimism is growing in the British Foreign Office where there is now a belief that Iran is intent on creating the capacity to produce a nuclear bomb. The U.S. secretary of state, Colin Powell, said Thursday that it was more and more likely that the matter of Iran's nuclear programs would have to be referred to the Security Council.
