Israel's Anti-Missile Defense System Intercepts 43 Palestinian Rockets

(Israel Defense Forces) During March 9-11, 22 Israeli civilians were injured as a result of rockets fired from Gaza. During this period over 147 rockets were fired by Gaza terrorists at Israel, targeting Israeli communities including the cities of Beersheba, Ashdod and Ashkelon, an area which is home to one million people. The Iron Dome anti-missile defense system has successfully intercepted 43 Grad rockets, of the 52 attempts to intercept rockets directed at densely populated regions. Schools in southern Israel are closed due to the continuous rocket fire.
