(Ha'aretz) Zvi Bar'el - Syrian opposition leader Colonel Riyad al-As'ad, commander of the Syrian Free Army, said on Wednesday that around half of the country is no longer under the control of President Bashar Assad's forces. Despite an increase in the number of defectors, the highest ranks of the military are still loyal to the regime.
