Egyptian Gets 15 Years for Offer to Spy for Israel

(Maarivenglish.com) - Egyptian lawyer Waleed Lotfy Ahmed Hashim, 29, was sentenced on Wednesday to 15 years in prison after being convicted of spying for Israel. Hashim had sent a fax to the Israeli embassy in Cairo offering his services in return for $2,500, which was intercepted by Egyptian authorities. The Israeli embassy denied it had any contacts with the accused.
