U.S. Denies Sale of F-16 Jets to Egypt Part of Grapel Prisoner Exchange Deal

(Jerusalem Post) The U.S. on Thursday denied reports that it agreed to sell F-16 fighter planes to Egypt in connection with the release of Ilan Grapel. "There is no truth to [these] press reports," a U.S. statement read. "Since 1982, the U.S. government has sold over 220 F16s to Egypt as part of our long standing bilateral defense relationship."
