(Ha'aretz) Palestinian militants in the Shajaiyeh neighborhood of Gaza City Wednesday opened fire on IDF forces who were on a mission to root out militant cells behind mortar attacks on Jewish towns in the Gaza Strip and rocket attacks on southern Israel. Israeli forces returned fire, reportedly killing 11 Palestinians and wounding 50. A bodyguard of Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin was among those killed.
