(Reuters) Israel is using diplomatic back channels to test whether Syria really wants to resume peace talks and stands ready to reopen negotiations if Damascus takes key steps, a senior Israeli official said on Tuesday. The official said Israel was still trying to gauge Syria's readiness for talks and wanted it to show good faith by taking concrete measures.
