At Least 32 Killed as Syrian Troops Open Fire

(Washington Post) Liz Sly - Syrian forces opened fire on protesters after Friday prayers, killing at least 32 people as the regime led by President Bashar al-Assad showed no sign of easing its military crackdown. "The regime has shown that it is betting on a strategy of violence to crush the opposition," said Razan Zeitouneh, a human rights lawyer who is in hiding in Damascus. "But everything that has happened shows that it is failing."
