(Wall Street Journal) Nour Malas - Thousands of Syrians protested in cities across the country Friday in defiance of the government's broadest and harshest week of crackdowns yet. Six people were killed by gunfire, in spite of an apparent order by President Bashar al-Assad's government to show restraint toward protesters. At least 45 people have been killed over the past week.
