(State Department) U.S. Ambassador to the UN John Bolton told the UN Security Council Thursday that acting Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has expressed a willingness to pursue compromises with the Palestinians in the interest of peace, while Hamas has done nothing to change the U.S. view that it is a terrorist organization. He said Hamas has been responsible for the murder of hundreds of innocent civilians and that the group "has harmed the Palestinian peoples' aspirations for statehood."
