Lebanese Army Removes Border Trees

(Daily Star-Lebanon) - The Lebanese Army, in coordination with UNIFIL, removed five trees on the border with Israel after an Israeli request. The trees were planted as part of an Iran-funded project to improve the landscape of the southern border. UNIFIL was tasked with convincing the Lebanese troops to cut the trees. On August 3, Lebanese and Israeli troops exchanged fire in the village of Adaysseh after Israel attempted to cut a tree on the border.
