Leaning on Israel Won't Bring Middle East Peace

[The Oklahoman] Editorial - The London Times reports that U.S. National Security Adviser James Jones told a European foreign minister the White House is ready to lean on Israel. The trouble with this position is it assumes Israel has a willing partner for peace. It ignores the fact the Palestinians - their government largely controlled by the terror group Hamas - won't commit to the existence of a Jewish state. That's a non-starter for any Israeli prime minister. The administration shouldn't pressure Israel to gain a flawed peace. There is a problem in the Middle East, but it's not America and it's not Israel.
