[New Republic] Shmuel Rosner - If Obama is willing to negotiate with Ahmadinejad, how can Abbas get away with refusing to talk to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu? On the other hand, how can Abbas go back to negotiations after repeatedly promising not to do so unless Israel freezes all settlement construction? He can't - and the frustrated Obama administration has finally realized that negotiations are unlikely to happen anytime soon.
