Clinton, Israel Disagree on Settlement Freeze

Israel's foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, disagreed, saying, "We cannot accept this vision about absolutely, completely freezing all settlements." "We must keep the natural growth," he added. While Lieberman suggested that Israel had reached "some understandings with the previous [Bush] administration" allowing natural growth, Clinton rejected such a claim, saying, "there were no informal or oral enforceable agreements."
