Obama Extends U.S. Sanctions Against Iran

[Reuters] President Barack Obama said on Thursday he was extending sanctions against Iran for another year as it continued to pose an "extraordinary threat" to the national security, foreign policy and economy of the U.S. Obama extended the economic sanctions first imposed by former President Bill Clinton in March 1995. At the same time, the Obama administration intends to invite Tehran to an international conference on Afghanistan, which borders Iran, planned for this month.
