Israel Operating "Against Regime Gangs" in Syria
(Ha'aretz) Jack Khoury - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel is operating "against regime gangs" in Syria in light of clashes in southern Syria's Sweida region. "We are working to save our Druze brothers," he said. The fighting began Friday, after armed Bedouins attacked and robbed a young Druze man en route to Damascus. The assault was part of a broader wave of recent kidnappings targeting Druze residents by Bedouin militias. In retaliation, Druze gunmen abducted several members of Bedouin tribes, and the violence escalated.
