U.S. Toughens Demands on Syria's New Islamist-Led Leadership
(Wall Street Journal) Jared Malsin - The U.S. is demanding that Syria's new Islamist-led government crack down on extremists and expel Palestinian militants in return for a limited easing of sanctions, U.S. officials said. A State Department spokeswoman said, "The United States currently does not recognize any entity as the government of Syria....Syria's interim authorities should fully renounce and suppress terrorism."
