Israel and PA Enable Resumption of Water Desalination in Gaza
(AFP) Since being reconnected to Israel's electricity grid, the water desalination plant in Deir el-Balah has been producing 16,000 cubic meters of water per day, serving more than 600,000 Gaza residents, according to UNICEF. An Israeli security source said Israel "facilitated the connection of the electric line specifically to the desalination plant," adding that a mechanism was in place to track usage to "prevent electricity from being stolen."
