Moscow Cozies Up with Hamas to Pressure Israel
(Algemeiner) John Hardie and Ivana Stradner - A delegation from Hamas, led by Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh, visited Moscow in September for meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and other Russian officials. For Moscow, the visit likely reflects a continuation of its efforts to leverage the Palestinians to pressure Israel over its stance on Russia's war in Ukraine. John Hardie is deputy director of the Russia Program at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, where Ivana Stradner is an advisor.
