U.S. Says Its Warning Averted Syrian Chemical Attack
(Reuters) Phil Stewart and David Dolan - U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Wednesday that the Syrian government appeared to have heeded a warning from Washington on Monday not to carry out a chemical weapons attack. "It appears that they took the warning seriously," Mattis said. "They didn't do it."
