Lieberman: UN Risks Becoming Irrelevant
(Times of Israel) Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Thursday warned UN diplomats at a briefing at the UN that they risked becoming "irrelevant" by focusing on anti-Israel resolutions while ignoring issues like Syria, "where hundreds of people are killed on a daily basis," and North Korea's nuclear weapons. He said a series of "anti-Israel" UN resolutions passed in recent weeks demonstrated how the UN, and especially the Security Council, was "not fulfilling its role and was irrelevant to events on the world stage."
