Saddam Hussein's Los Alamos

(New York Times) John F. Burns - The nuclear installation called Tuwaitha was Saddam Hussein's Los Alamos, the site where he hoped to build Iraq's, and the Arab world's, first nuclear weapon. The Iraqis have now admitted that their scientists came close, in the months before the Persian Gulf war in 1991, to building at least one atomic bomb the size of the one used on Nagasaki in 1945.
